Truman mourns Joe Cocker’s passing

We here at A Band Called Truman are sad to hear the news of Joe Cocker’s passing today.

We have a soft spot in our hearts for Joe. He is (was) awesome. We do three a la Cocker covers in our set, including “The Letter,” and

always appreciated the way he brought rock energy to the R&B stuff.

Billboard has a great roundup of best Joe moments and the Guardian talks about his wide-ranging influence, even in the world of — yes — hip-hop.

So go ahead, Cry me a River, Joe Cocker is gone. But long live his music.
